Nations

Kenrick
Kenrick is one of the oldest nations, boasting a history that reaches back to the Silvered Age.  It absorbed territory after the fall of the Dracinic Empire, including the Imperial Valley(which had been laid to waste by the Queensfall war).
It is one of the most powerful nations in central Midorian; the south plains provide the breadbasket, the Great Lake provides fishing, the north has a thriving timber industry, and the Rift provides a wealth of minerals for mining.  Kenrick trades food to arid Trahern to the south in exchange for refined petroleum product, chiefly gasoline and oil.
The nation is ruled by a monarchy, checked by a parliament. King Joseph IX is the current ruling monarch.
Capital: Whitford, on the White River.

Nystand
Nystand is much like Kenrick, though half the size. The most notable thing about Nystand is the long-standing conflict it has held with Kenrick. This conflict originated with Kenrick's absorption of the Battlewastes (post-Queensfall Imperial Valley), which both nations had been tasked with guarding.  Kenrick claimed that Nystand had fallen lax in its duty, thus the annexation. This conflict has been ongoing for centuries (since circa 250 QF).
There is a neutral zone between the two nations, guarded day and night by their respective militaries.
Nystand is ruled by an assembly consisting of three houses: Senate, Judiciary, and Military.
Capital: Nystand, on the Great River.

Minsona
Minsona is the largest nation in central Midorian, as it combines the territories of two older countries: Minara and Mallesona. These two nations had traditionally been enemies since before the rise of the Empire.  After the Queensfall, Mallesona became wealthy by slaughtering the dragons of Jaala Plateau and plundering their hordes.  Then Mallesona became the victim of not one, but three cataclysmic volcanic eruptions (ignited by an exalted dragon, the stories say).  The Mallesonans fled north, but Minara threatened war against the weakened nation.  It would have been a slaughter, but a plague fell upon Minara, a disease to which Mallesonans were resistant.  With both peoples facing extinction, they came to a truce and the two nations joined together.
Minsona boasts hundreds of miles of coastline and a powerful navy. Their shipping lines stretch across the ocean to Asyut and Jutland.
Minsona is ruled by a Senate populated by representatives from all over the country.
Capital: Malara, on the coast.

Vulfmark
Vulfmark sits on the west side of the Mountains of Heaven, so information has always been lacking.  In the Imperial days, Vulfmark was an ally, but after Queensfall all communication was cut off.  Fantastic stories abound, such as palaces of gold and dozens of stories high, wolves the size of horses, and an army that could sweep the whole of Midorian if they so chose.
The factual information that has made it over the mountains confirm the nation's love of war. The Vulfmark is as large as the old Empire, and growing constantly by battling its neighbors. They have devoted their energy into the research of machines of war and ever more deadly weaponry.  The latest rumor says that the Vulfmark has developed a bomb that can level an entire city through the use of atom splitting.
Vulfmark is said to be ruled as a socialist state.

Chessi
The Chessi nation claims no lands, but is a nomadic society that ranges freely over the whole of Midorian. Or tries to, at least. The changes in agriculture and ranching has made their migrations more difficult as more and more fences go up. They hold tight to their traditions, and boast the best horse breeding in Midorian.  They have adapted to some new technology such as firearms, but eschew the use of motor vehicles.
The nation is divided up into clans, which are scattered all over Midorian.  The Datann Chessi are most prominently found in the plains of south Kenrick and central Minsona, as well as north Trahern. The Datann Chessi clan is ruled by a council of elders that meet in Prochora.
Capital: none.

Doshiri
Doshiri is a relatively new country, formed in 1500 QF by the plains Inraa (the Dosh). Several different tribes united together as protection against the human nations.  Once a traditional enemy of the Chessi, they now provide a safe haven for any wandering groups that need safety from persecution.
Doshiri has land suitable for sheep raising, thus has large textile industry. The country also has access to silver mines in the mountains and quarries with high-quality marble.
Doshiri is governed by a council of the traditional tribal heads.
Capital: Amanhir, in the mountains.
